Drivers must adhere to the following contractor requirements in order to qualify for employment with Quality Carriers:
Be at least 22 years of age.
Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. (French if in French-speaking terminal.)
Be authorized to work in the United States. (Canada if Canadian driver)
Have at least one (1) year Over-The-Road experience under a DOT-certified carrier with an articulating vehicle in the last two (2) years. Or have two (2) years’ local experience with a DOT-certified carrier with an articulating vehicle in the last three (3) years.
Relative experience that falls outside the window described above will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Have no alcohol- or drug-related convictions in any personal motor vehicle in the last five (5) years.
Have only one (1) conviction in a lifetime.
Have never had an alcohol- or drug-related conviction while operating a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).
Have no drug possession convictions within the last five (5) years and only one (1) in a lifetime.
Have no felony charges related to drug distribution.
Have never tested positive for drugs and alcohol under DOT rules and regulations.
Have no more than six (6) jobs in the last three (3) years.
Have no more than three (3) preventable accidents within the last three (3) years, with claims not surpassing $15,000 total.
No speeding tickets at or over 78 mph or 14 mph over the posted limit in the last 12 months.
Have no apparent trend of aggressive driving in the past five (5) years.
Be in good health and able to pass a DOT physical examination, pulmonary function test (PFT), and drug test.
Have no disqualifying offenses per the TSA, which prohibit you from holding a hazardous materials endorsement or any felony convictions that are substantially related to a CMV with HM lading.
Have no DOT medical waivers, which prevent the driver from performing the essential functions of the job outlined in SAF-5.01 – Job Description – Driver. This may include but is not limited to diabetes, vision, arm, or hand waivers. All waivers must be approved by the VP of Safety.
Have no unexplainable gaps of over 30 days in employment history.
Be in physical condition to perform all essential functions required by driver's job description.
Have a weight not to exceed 365 pounds.
Only have one Commercial Drivers License (CDL) issued in the State of residence with the Tank and Hazardous Material endorsements. (HazMat receipt accepted.)
Pass a mandatory 25-mile QC road test.
Must be clean shaven at all times and able to wear a full-/half-face respirator.
